SUPPORTING TRIBAL STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN THE ENVIROTHON


A goal of the Washington Conservation Society is to encourage tribal students and teachers to consider creation of student teams to participate in the Envirothon program. To support this goal the WCS hereby creates a Tribal Envirothon Support Fund with the following requirements:

The Fund can be used solely to help defray the costs of Washington State tribal student teams to participate in regional and state Envirothon competitions. The number tribal student teams that may be supported in any given year will be determined by the WCS Board after consulting: The State Envirothon Committee; The WACD Tribal Relations Committee;
Determining the Fund balance and identifying the actual number of support awards and amounts that are feasible.

Awarded monies may be used for support purposes such as, but not limited to, provided that the purpose relates to addressing costs associated with participating in the Envirothon:

a.    Teacher time;

b.    Study books and materials;

c.     Travel and lodging for Envirothon competitions.

Applications will be accepted annually from June 1st – November 1st. 


Applicants must use the Tribal Envirothon Support Application. 





Award notifications will be made at the Annual Meeting of the WCS.
